This porcelain covered pot features a lid with hole for a spoon, 2 handles, and an under-plate. The hand painted decoration is pink roses, violets and yellow flowers with gold striping on the pot and pink rose clusters, gold cartouches and striping on the plate. The pot did not originally come with this plate, but they have enough similarities such that they go together nicely. They both have Hand Painted /Nippon marks, but the pot has the Rising Sun mark in blue and the plate has the M in Wreath mark in green. Both of these marks were in use from 1911 to 1921. Sizes: pot, 5¼ in. wide with handles x 4¼ in. high; plate, 6¼ in. diameter. Condition: there is one chip on the inside ring of the lid near the opening for the spoon (see pic #5); the gold trim on both pieces is intact. The damage described in reflected in the price.
